Weatherwise, 2018 was a year of contrasts across much of the UK, ranging from record cold to record heat with travel disruption and implications for public health. The meeting will address specific events in addition to the broad story of the UK's and global weather. How active were tropical cyclones and the Asian Summer Monsoon? How did the weather impact on the UK's hydrological year? How did the year shape up across the UK - was it warmer/cooler or wetter/drier than average? All this and more will be presented on the day.
